Interesting Hidden Activities at Abu Dhabi – well-worn path

Abu Dhabi is not what it used to be anymore. It has grown with many more interesting things, angles, aspects and facets. Breathe in the swanky ambience that dominates Abu Dhabi.

1

Media City Park

You can easily spot the park because of its huge lake which contains a big fountain that sprays water into the air. Along the path by the lake, you can amble along. Quite untypical of Dubai, this area is abounding with green space. Even if you go there with your kids, they will have a lot of things to look forward to. They will never grow bored. Located in close proximity to Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, the park shelters a music concert or some other festival from time to time. As for shops or eateries, you cannot find them inside the park. But outside the park, there are enough eateries.

2

The Surf House

The Surf House is specially designed for surfers of all levels. But if you are a female, remember to respect the country's tradition. You are supposed to cover yourself even when in a surfing suit. You can rent or buy surfboards from the surf house. On a different note, the Surf House is not all about surfing. You can go for yoga and music as well. And you can get services of surf professionals too if you are not confident enough. Surfing instructors are also available at any desert resort. Abu Dhabi is the ideal location to try surfing with its stunning beaches.

3

Beehive

If you are curious as to what the Beehive is, it is none other than Al Bahr towers on Salam street. When you enter the tower, you will notice that it has over 2000 glass elements. They operate automatically based on the sun's conditions. Those solar panels on the roof are an amazing creation that contributes so much to the environment. The tower itself stands out as Abu Dhabi's unique contribution to climate change. These towers could easily be spotted due to their 29-storied height.

Hunt for treasures at Bambah

Bambah could be another spot you should not miss if you have an undying passion for shopping. But Bambah is an exquisite place. What you find here is hard to locate elsewhere. Its proprietor Maha Abdul Rasheed is a globetrotter who plucks various titbits that belong to times of yore and trade them at this shop. Treat yourself to a good antique shopping spree at Bambah.

5

Gold Souk

Probably the best place in Abu Dhabi to practise your bargaining skills. If you are looking for gold at a cheap rate, check it out. That's where your bargaining skills come to the fore. The better you are at bargaining, the closer you are to getting a good deal on gold purchases. And remember to buy gold from the stores where prices are mentioned. Never ever buy from street sellers however cheap they might sound. But if you are not happy with the gold or its prices at Gold Souk, there are many other souks in the vicinity.
