Monkey Magic

There is something magical and thrilling that kids especially would love here at the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. It is a fully walled forest area found at the bottom of the Monkey Forest Road in Ubud that houses some of the most ancient temples and a hoard of macaques. The monkeys who live here are surrounded with mystery and have absolutely no fear towards humans. You need to be watchful when wearing hats and other accessories while walking along here and be mindful not to leave your cameras or bags, especially food stuff and drinks unattended as these mischievous monkeys are known to be great robbers of any item from you within seconds and disappear! Kids can have a great belly laugh seeing how their moms scream to chase the monkey robbers from stealing their hats and other precious items. Walking around window shopping, stopping by inadvertently to satisfy their curiosity to glance at a fascinating object on display is something kids love to do here in Ubud. There are plenty of shops on lanes and narrow street corridors with vendors selling all kind of items including candy that kids love.

Playing Outdoor Games

There are plenty of outdoor street corner games and entertainment events for children in Ubud. While the parents hang out in the town centre at the crossroads, they can watch their kids mixing with other young ones having their dancing lessons, girls in the palace and boys over the road. They can freely engage in impersonating various dance forms the popular one being the Balinese dance.

Visiting Restaurants and Wayside Food Stalls

There are plenty of eateries including dine in restaurants, quick bite cafes and street food stalls serving any type of food that you can enjoy with your kids. Some of the restaurants in Ubud are unique in their seating style with low tables to enjoy your tea and cakes while watching fish in a pond seated on the ground.
