Great Dives in Maldives - Take a Plunge!

The warm seas that surround this spellbinding archipelago are not world famous for just anything. Maldives has a number of amazing diving spots and none of them will fail to impress you.

Vaavu Atoll

A highly rated dive site and a preferred choice of many divers and liveaboard cruises in the island, Vaavu Atoll is definitely a diver's delight. The Vaavu atoll host abundance of coral, fish, caves, overhangs and swim-throughs that divers can enjoy. When you dive deeper yellow soft coral and black coral bushes come into view. Spotting reef sharks, jack, tuna and large schools of snapper are all part of the diving scene here.

Lhaviyani Atoll

Commonly known as the Kuredu express due to the very strong current and flow, Lhaviyani Atoll is ideal for a diving adventure. You can swim along the terraces and go down to different depths where you will come face to face with sharks, eagle rays, tuna, and stingrays. Mantas are also a frequent visitor here. Okobe Thila, North Male Atoll

One of the oldest dive sites in the island Okobe Thila consists of three main pinnacle sites and they range from 30ft to 50ft in length. The Banana Reef, Lankan Manta Point, Aquarium, Maldive Victory, Blue Point, Bodu Giri are some of the popular dive sites around the atoll. Due to the ever-present current here you normally spiral up and down while diving. Magnificent rock surfaces, caves, steep drop-offs, and overhangs are to be expected here. Myriad of sea creatures including sharks, manta rays, black snapper, morays, squirrelfish, and grub are all the members that you are bound to meet.

Kandooma Thila, South Male Atoll

A vivid scenery, prolific sea life are all part of this large teardrop shaped pinnacle. Soft corals cover the walls and you come eye to eye with schools of red bass, grey sharks, and eagle rays. The safety stop gets even more interesting since you get a chance to mingle with green turtles and batfish.

Ari Atoll

The Ari Atoll has a canyon that breaks the reef in two. What's great about diving here is that you find schools of big fish right throughout the year. The stunning coral formation and the vibrant shades of colour along with the wide variety of sea life has made Ari Atoll one of the best sites in the world. Once you dive in the Ari Atoll it's a difficult task to find a site that can compete with it. You can look forward to spotting manta rays, whale sharks, barracuda, scorpionfish, moray eels and turtles when you dive here.
