Beaches to See in Seychelles – A Remarkable Leisure Destination

The attractive Seychelles is renowned for its splendid natural attractions. In these islands you will find a host of lovely beaches which are wonderful places to relax and spend quality leisure time.

1

Anse Source d'Argent

This remarkable stretch of beach offers a splendid place in which to relax and unwind from the stresses and strains of the modern existence. At this idyllic beach you will find powder-soft sands, picturesque palm trees as you might find in a brochure, inviting waters and a stretch of boulders that form a scenic backdrop to the romantic scene. Here you will find a beautiful lagoon with its shimmering waters gleaming in a host of alluring colours. In the local waters you will find splendid coral gardens inhabited by a myriad of exotic fish. If you feel hungry just walk over to the Lanbousir, an attractive eatery which is well-known for its fresh seafood and banana pancakes.

2

Petite Anse

If you have ever dreamed of playing Robinson Crusoe on a secluded beach, make it a point to visit the alluring Petite Anse on the Seychelles' La Digue. This attractive stretch of beach entices the visitor with its many enthralling attractions. Take a packed lunch and first head over to the better known Grand Anse on the island's eastern coast; from here all you have to do is to follow the pathway that leads to Petite Anse. This 15 minute walk will be well worth the effort as you will find a romantically beautiful beach with an alluring crescent of sands, shimmering shallows and only the occasional sea bird overhead.

3

Anse Georgette

This entrancing beach on Praslin looks as if it must be a tourist hotspot with its surreally lovely cove and romantic ambience, yet the fact that it is hidden away and rather difficult to reach by foot has made it a secluded attraction. In fact the best way to reach this beach would be to hire the services of a taxi boat which will take you to this wonderful location. You are very likely to find that you are pretty much alone on this idyllic beach, with only the shells, palm trees and the infrequent honeymooner staying at the adjacent resort for company.

4

Beau Vallon

Beau Vallon has the distinction of being the most frequented and certainly one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Mahe. This fine beach features an extensive stretch of gleaming sands interspersed with coconut palms and takamaka trees. Many local residents also choose to visit this beach and take a dip in the waters, yet Beau Vallon remains largely free of crowds. You will also find plenty of activities here to keep you occupied, such as snorkelling, parasailing, diving or sailing. As you experience these lovely beaches stay at one of the quality beach resorts in Seychelles such as AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa, located on another fine stretch of shore known as Barbarons Beach and an ideal base from which to head to Beau Vallon as well.

5

Bird Island

If you are a lover of nature you are sure to be enthralled by the attractions of Bird Island. Here you will find a gleaming beach seemingly ornamented by pieces of odd driftwood protruding from the sands. One side of the island features a flourishing reef which assures remarkable snorkelling experiences for visitors. The local waters teem with sea life, including large fish, dolphins and sometimes sharks. This beach has also become a place where turtles arrive to lay their eggs; visitors will have the opportunity to observe the hawksbill turtles crawling on to the sands to deposit their eggs.
