Twitter Is Testing A New Way To Feature Tweets

Twitter has been testing a new section on profiles: Featured Tweets!

Twitter has expanded its animated GIF size limit from 5MB to 15MB, opening up all kinds of new possibilities for situations when plain text just doesn't cut it. Prior to the change, Twitter's size ceiling for both photos and animated GIFs was 5MB. The photo limit has stayed the same, along with the GIF limit for mobile uploads. But Twitter now allows for GIFs three times the size if they are uploaded on the web. Unfortunately, the update hasn't made its way to TweetDeck, which remains perennially behind the times when it comes to Twitter engineering improvements.

Google Updates Mobile Search Results to Make Trip Planning, Shopping Easier

Google revealed new updates to its search results on mobile, which will help users when they’re planning trips or shopping on their mobile devices.

Google is going to allow you to share the movies, music, and apps you purchase from its Play Store amongst up to six of your family members, Gizmodo and CNET report. Content you buy from those stores can be shared across Android devices, Google's websites, and the Google Play apps on iOS. Android apps, of course, only work on Android (and, soon enough, Chromebooks). It's called Google Play Family Library, and it works pretty similarly to how Apple's family share program operates.

Darby Smart Launches Darby Video App for How-To Videos

Darby Smart launched its Darby application on iOS. The app allows users to browse how-to videos from users in the “maker” community, as well as to upload their own videos. The app includes content from influencers on Pinterest, YouTube and Facebook, as well as content from digital media companies such as Refinery29 and PureWow.

The beleaguered brand took the wraps off a new app today called Swing, which lets users shoot a burst of images that are combined into a second-long video clip and is swipeable with their finger.
