Heading to the Maldives on a fabulous beach holiday? Remember to pack for sunny weather, lazy days on beautiful beaches and swimming in the most inviting ocean. Below is a checklist of essentials.
Let's address the ladies first for face it all beach worthy essentials go into that all-encompassing tote bag or beach bag. Now the men may not carry one but we all know that essentials such as sun screen lotion, beach towels, hats, water and a range of other Knick knacks used by 'all' members of the family go into that bag. Plan your day at the beach and pack accordingly. If you are on a family vacation there may be kids essentials that need to go into that bag. The best would be to buy yourself a good size, easy to carry bag before heading out to your holiday destination. Of course a good luxury resort Maldives seems to have plenty of, will have boutiques selling beach essentials such as tote bags.
The essence of summer and days at the beach a good pair of flip flops is a vital piece of beach wear. Flip flops are now available in a variety of colours, you could buy a couple to match the colour of your trendy swim wear and look fashionable at the beach. If you are travelling to places like the Maldives, flip flops will be readily available and need not be packed for the flight.
An extra pair of glasses or contact lenses will prove to be beneficial when travelling on holiday. Whether you are on a beach holiday or any other holiday an extra pair of these will prove to be a saver in times of an emergency.
A tropical vacation is always best enjoyed with a good pair of shades or sunglasses. Remember and pack your favourite pair for those long days spent sunbathing on the beautiful white sand beaches of Maldives. A stylish pair will let you fit in with the chic crowd seen frequenting popular Maldivian destinations such as the South Male Atolls, home to the Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort and loads of little islands where one can spend the day sun bathing, scuba diving and swimming in the warm Indian Ocean.
A tropical holiday is just fine but remember that in the tropics or even a summery day at the beach means the sun will be beating down on you in extra doses. It is always wise to cover up and protect yourself from the harsh rays of the sun. Just like your skin needs the protection of sun screen your head needs to be kept cool and shaded. A wide brimmed hat will offer shade to your face as well and may reduce the number of freckles you gain on that beach holiday.
Pack your favourite swimsuit, even if you do not plan to do loads of swimming but love lazing the day away on the beach; take along a good swimsuit. It is always more relaxing and comfortable when on the beach than any other type of clothing that will flap in the breeze and way you down once wet.
There are many fashionable swimsuit covers from colourful shawls to gauzy types of robes. Even kids and male folk should take along a t-shirt for covering up when they feel the sun may be a tad too strong.
The ideal spot on the beach is best enjoyed on a good size beach blanket, rolling about in the sand no matter how beautiful it's, is not a very pleasant experience.
Pack an extra case of batteries for your cameras and do remember to take along chargers for your other electronic gadgets. Whether you plan to read your kindle on the beach, surf the net or snap up every moment spent at your blissful Maldives beach resort do take along the necessary batteries and charging devises.
These are mainly essential when travelling with young children. Remember and take along a beach board, arm floats or inflatable tube to give confidence to young kids skimming the waves at the beach.
