Chinese Foot-Binding

The tradition started in the 10th century when the emperor's favourite mistress bound her feet in the shape of a lotus when it actually looked something like a hoove. This then became fashionable among the other mistresses because they were competing for the emperor's favour. After that if your feet were less or 3 inches (8cm) you were considered a suitable wife because it was seen as feminine and obliging.

The ideal age to bond your feet is between 4-6 because any younger and the children can't deal with the pain any older your feet would already be too big.
1) Massage the feet with animal blood and herbs
2) Cit the toe nails back as far as possible
3) Break all toes except the big toe and food the toes back and press them into the souls of the foot
4) Feet had to be kept bound

Any girl that wished to marry had to have bound feet because it was feminine and if you didn't have bound feet you were considered very poor
