Hong Kong is not short of great entertainment venues, the cosmopolitan country boasts some of the finest bars in Asia for the trendy tourist to chill out at. Listed below are the best five.
The Dragon I just may be the hottest dance club, host to a very extravagant clientele who are not shy of splurging and flaunting their affluence. Located atop the famous party zone of Lan Kwai Fong the clubs interior exudes an ambiance of both Asian influence and New York chic. You will find dim lighting and booth style seating arrangements within the bustling club. The most unique feature within the club however are the live bird cages scattered throughout the place; a practise that has been pointed out to be cruel. Nevertheless the birds remain and seem to blend into the pulsating atmosphere of this very trendy and very popular night club in Hong Kong.
The 'Finds' club is located in the ritzy confines of Luxe Manor in the Tsim Sha Tsui district. Boasting a Scandinavian themed set of décor the club presents pastel shades, simple wooden furniture and clean modern lines in design. The crowd that graces Finds are much mature and seem to have mastered the art of being hip without the need to display their wealth. The place is best known for its excellent cocktail menu and bevy of top DJ's servicing the place over the weekends. Now, if you are an avid clubber remember that Hong Kong hotel rooms are well adapted to night owls who love to party all night and enjoy some quiet rest and relaxation during the day. Look for a trendy hotel that's modern in décor and utterly comfortable. Causeway Bay home to the Cosmopolitan Hotel Hong Kong may be a good choice of location for it allows you to indulge in shopping and dining by simply walking from your Hong Kong hotel to the nearest mall or restaurant; quite a convenient boost if you are looking forward to some serious bar hopping at night.
M1NT is tipped to be the top contender in the classy and exclusive night club range. And yes it does have a very strict door policy. It keeps in line with its original counterpart in London and is a member's only club that requires a sizeable donation to join. On the up side M1NT offers open nights for non-members to experience a night within the exclusive club. The interior is indeed quite a treat to experience for inside you will find live black tipped sharks circling within the aquarium, a magnificent 32,000 piece crystal chandelier and some very exclusive Damien Hirst paintings.
Music lovers will enjoy the fare at Volar, more famous for its music than dance floors. Some of the best local and international DJ's grace the club, attracting vast crowds of music lovers and dance enthusiasts who flock the club after midnight
Take a break from the high end fashion and sneers of the snobby society clubs for a night of unadulterated fun at the Dusk till Dawn night club. A favourite amongst locals, expats and ordinary tourist's Dusk till Dawn is a huge dance floor serviced by vibrant Filipino bands belting out hits by the likes of U2 and Black Eyed Peas.
