Have you ever wondered how the Great Wall of China's dimensions were decided?

Builders did the best they could with the local materials and the slave labor they controlled. They built the wall as high as they thought would keep out intruders and as wide as necessary for their chariost to be driven on the crest.
Since the great wall was built for protection, they decided the height should be taller than a man could climb and wider than a man could jump.
