Slough creek campground might very well be the best campsite in Yellowstone National Park. It is located in the remote corner of Lamar Valley which has some excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. The campsite is very remote and secluded, and you likely will not have to deal with noisy neighbors. You can get a spot right next to the creek and you have a chance of hearing wolves howl at night. This year, there is a wolf den site visible from the Slough Creek Campground Road. Because of its prime location in Lamar Valley, you can encounter animals like bear, wolf, and elk little ways away from your campsite. Slough Creek Campground is truly a remote jewel in Yellowstone. Campgrounds operate on a first come first-serve basis. Being one of the most popular campsites in the park, it usually fill up by 8 am.
