Catamaran Sailing

A catamaran sail across the glistening waters of the Indian Ocean is highly recommended for those of you who love basking in the best of nature. Swimming skills are not an absolute necessity for enjoying a catamaran ride – although taking necessary safety precautions are a must. The best season for catamaran sailing is November to April while a camera is not to be forgotten in order to preserve some of the stunning experiences you will witness on a catamaran trip.

You can easily hire a kayak from any one of the top Maldives resorts you choose to stay at or the nearest sports shop. A kayak tour around your Maldives resort is highly recommended for enjoying sights of the verdant coastline surrounding your chosen resort island. There are many options to a kayak tour such as paddling to the nearest cluster of islands or paddling around the coral atolls. Either way the experience is quite mind blowing especially around beautiful locales such as Kurumba Maldives. Do remember to take along plenty of water and cover from the sun. April to November is the best season for kayaking around the Maldives where a tour generally lasts around two hours.

Snorkelling in Maldives

Nothing prepares you for the splendour below the ocean waves around Maldives. The gorgeous coral atolls are home to an innumerable collection of marine life thriving in the warm waters. Best of all the waters are so calm and clear that you can expect views to depths of 50 metres in some instances. Snorkelling may be enjoyed by swimmers not having diving certifications; plus it is a sport that even non swimmers may indulge in, with the aid of highly skilled instructors. Snorkelling is also a family event; a sport that may be indulged in by all members of the family. Do ask around for snorkelling tours where experienced guides will take you to some of the best snorkel sites around uninhabited islands and gorgeous bays. July to September is the best season for snorkelling.

Soar above the waves as you fly like a bird on a kitesurfing tour. Ideal for the adrenaline hungry tourist kitesurfing is the way to go if you want mind blowing fun in tropical environs. April to October is high season for this sport.

Glass Bottomed Boat Rides

If you want to experience the bounty beneath the waves of Maldives without getting wet, this is the best option. The glass panelled boats cut through the waves as you are afforded with first class views of all activity below. Observe the fish, coral formations and any other quirky critter you may come across at the ocean bottom.
