The QS University Rankings: Asia was launched with the aim of highlighting the top universities in Asia, shining a spotlight on the rapid development of many higher education systems in this dynamic world region.The methodology is adapted from that used for the QS World University Rankings®, with the aim of reflecting regional priorities and challenges. This list is about the best 10 among them.


NUS - National University of Singapore

NUS university of Singapore is ranked consistently as one of the world's top universities. It offer the most extensive college degree courses in Singapore.

The University of Hong Kong

Established in 1911, the University of Hong Kong is the territory's oldest institute of higher learning, and is today an internationally respected research-led comprehensive university.

KAIST - Korea Advanced Institute of Science

KAIST was established in 1971 to model a research focused university and to foster elite human resources in science and technology needed by the nation.Currently, KAIST has successfully become a well-respected member of the worldwide science community

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU)

Nanyang Technological University offers engineering, science, business, humanities, arts and social sciences, and medicine. Young and research-intensive. NTU is home to several world-class institutes and centres, including the Singapore Centre on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering, Earth Observatory of Singapore and Institute on Asian Consumer Insight. NTU’s new medical school, the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is set up jointly with Imperial College London.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a young and dynamic university devoted to education and research particularly at the postgraduate level. Founded in 1991, HKUST comprises five schools – Science, Engineering, Business and Management, Humanities and Social Science, and the Fok Ying Tung Graduate School in Guangzhou. The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)

Peking University

Peking University is a comprehensive and National key university. The campus, known as "Yan Yuan"-- the gardens of Yan, is situated at the northeast of the Haidian District at the western suburbs of Beijing. It stands near the Yuan Ming Gardens and the Summer Palace. The University consists of 30 colleges and 12 departments, with 93 specialties for undergraduates, 2 specialties for the second Bachelor's degree, 199 specialties for Master candidates and 173 specialties for Doctoral candidates.

Seoul National University

From the Start of the New Nation Korean people have always maintained their faith in the power of education, even through colonial occupation and war during the tumultuous first half of the 20th century. Thus in 1946, just months after Korea regained its independence, Seoul National University was established as the first piece of the educational foundation for the new nation. After a few short years, the campus had to be abandoned at the start of the Korean war in 1950, as civilians fled south to escape the frontlines. But the passion of the professors and students sustained the school through the war, with classes held outside refugee camps.
