Best Beaches in Abu Dhabi – Glistening Oases of Sun Sand n Surf

Abu Dhabi has no shortage of fabulous public, private, club and resort beaches. Grab those sun glasses, sun screen and towel and head on over to the nearest beach where unlimited fun awaits.

Corniche – Public Beach

The Corniche is a public beach located around the western edge of the Emirate Palace. Apart for the beaches belonging to the private beach clubs the entire stretch of beach is open to the public. The beautifully clean beach has been rewarded with the Blue Flag status. Entry is free to the park which offers convenient changing room and shower facilities as well as a range of cafes and restaurants to browse. The beach is well patrolled by a bevy of lifeguards. The place is ideal for spending a fun family day at as there are beach volleyball and beach football pitches close by. Check out the areas managed by BAKE; a beach management company and you will find areas cordoned of for families, couples and groups. These areas are well serviced with sun loungers and shops where one can purchase everyday beach goodies such as swim wear, sun screen etc. BAKE beaches are open from 8 am to 8 pm and a small entrance fee is charged.

Saadiyat Public Beach

Saadiyat Beach too is managed by BAKE. It is a well organised family beach complete with sun loungers. Holiday makers will find the convenience of locker and towel rentals as well as excellent changing and shower rooms. If you fancy a spot of yoga on the beach this is the spot to indulge your senses. The beach is open from 8 am to sunset. Apart from indulging your senses with yoga you could plan your Abu Dhabi stay at one of the fine 5 star hotels Abu Dhabi has to offer and revel in luxury. If you love the beach look for luxury resorts based around the waterfront and the countries prided mangrove forest; which is close to the Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara.

Al Bateen Beach

Al Bateen is a popular family beach frequented by Abu Dhabi's expat population and visiting tourists. It is favoured by families for its lovely calm waters and stunning views along the gorgeous 800m stretch of beach. From this beach you are rewarded with sights of the Hudariyat Bridge which connects to the isolated Hudariyat Island. This is a beach offering plenty of activity such as taking on a kayaking tour along the coast or hiring a paddle boat for some fun on the waves. The beach is open from 8 am to sunset.

Nurai - Island Beach

Nurai Island offers you a day of total luxury in exotic confines. It is a must try tour when in Abu Dhabi. The popular resort is resplendent with pristine beaches and offers day passes to visiting travellers. Getting there is via a quick 12 minute boat ride taken from Saadiyat Island. On arrival you are treated to a complimentary drink after which the fabulous infinity pool and gorgeous white sand beaches are yours to enjoy.

Lulu – Island Beach

Lulu is an island that is found parallel to the Corniche beach; close to the breakwater. It is well worth heading out to the island offering loads of water sports facilities - due to the calm waters. Favoured by families the island is popular for barbeques and picnics.
