Fun Kindergarten Science Lessons

The Science4Us curriculum is a complete, standards-based, core science curriculum that delivers digital and real-world science experiences using the 5E's to kindergarten, 1st grade and 2nd grade students.

Elementary Science:Online, Interactive, Standards-Based

The Tools module introduces students to the tools scientists use for both qualitative and quantitative observations. Students learn to use tools such as their 5 senses, rulers, and balance scales through hands-on activities.

Elementary Science:Online, Interactive, Standards-Based

At Science4Us the study of living things begins with the Living and Nonliving module. Students explore the similarities and differences between living and nonliving things and learn four characteristics that all living things share (they have needs, they are made up of parts, they respond to change, they reproduce). Students learn to identify living and nonliving things through clues, comparing what they learn to the characteristics they know.

Elementary Science:Online, Interactive, Standards-Based

The Animals module begins with an area of fascination for students, animals of all sorts. An animated host begins the unit by introducing students to wild animals in their habitats. In online and offline activities, students broaden their understanding of animals by learning to identify and classify animals into six categories: mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates.

Elementary Science:Online, Interactive, Standards-Based

In the Observing Matter module, students begin to learn the words to describe matter correctly and accurately, learning important skills for communicating scientific information.

Elementary Science:Online, Interactive, Standards-Based

In the Energy Sources module, students are introduced to the idea that all plants and animals need energy. In fact, people need energy to live, work, grow, and play. Interactive games help students practice identifying energy types that we use every day: electricity, food, and sunlight.

Elementary Science:Online, Interactive, Standards-Based

The Location and Perspective module helps students explore spatial relationships and then develop the vocabulary to describe these relationships from multiple locations. Interactive games help students to see everyday objects from different perspectives.

Elementary Science:Online, Interactive, Standards-Based

Science4Us begins the study of matter with everyday objects that students are comfortable with. The Materials and Mixtures module begins the unit. Students explore everyday objects they know like recyclables and identify objects made of wood, cloth, plastic and metal.
