“2M” FOOTBALL TRAINING CAMP CATERS TO A VARIETY OF NEEDS BEYOND FOOTBALL TRAINING
Madeira is the home of Cristiano Ronaldo, and as such it’s developed an international reputation in the context of football. People are curious to know how such a freakishly talented player was developed. Ronaldo’s brand CR7, has even become the shirt sponsor of one local team, C.F. União. With this notoriety has come considerable interest, investment, and development of the local sports culture in Madeira.
Madeira has become a hotbed for athletes and training centers, especially football ones.
Training centers such as Madeira Sports Centre are an example of the evolution and development of sports infrastructure here. There is some variety, but with Ronaldo in mind it’s not hard to understand why football (or soccer) training is one of the focal points.
In terms of football, training facilities there are a couple key things (by no means exhaustive) that are important.
The weather.
This is a feature of Madeira that makes it so attractive for football training, rarely if ever will you have bad weather. Odds of pulled muscles are generally lower in tropical climates when compared to cold parts of Europe or the Americas. Training sessions are never canceled or effected on account of the weather here.
Access to competition & knowledge.
If you have a team or are simply an individual athlete you want to be exposed to the highest level of competition and coaching you can. By training in Madeira you are privy to the elite sports environment that has grown there, and also have access to local teams for competition. While small, the football community in Madeira has extremely high quality per capita.
Surroundings.
Ideal football training facilities will have your basic amenities: manicured pitch, proper equipment, gym access, jacuzzi bath, ice machine, comfortable beds, and a leisure activities program. A peaceful but stimulating environment never hurts either, and Madeira delivers this in spades.
