Top Surfing Spots in Uluwatu Bali – Gorgeous Tourist Resort

If you are looking for an excellent Bali surf resort, chances are it is based in Uluwatu. The Uluwatu area is home to excellent surf spots; the best is accessed via a cave at the base of a cliff where the Blue Point is located. The Bukit Peninsula's south western tip offers one a number of breaks and you can choose from daredevil rides such as 'Barrels at the Peak' and the 'Speed of the Race Track'; the latter should be left to the professionals as it culminates in a multi winding barrel. The left hander wave is conducive to any swell size and is not one for beginners. Please note that the current can be quite strong in some areas depending on the tide. These popular spots are often quite crowded.

The Impossibles are located right below surf hotel the Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort. The place is frequented by amateur surfers less inclined to take on Uluwatu. There are two central take off points here while the swells are known to change directions. Even top seasons for the best swells are hard to predict at this erratic point. The rather long left hander depends on a larger swell in order to be more exciting as otherwise the wave breaks in many sections making surfing difficult. But on days that the swell is good you can enjoy excellent bouts of surfing. This is a rather less crowded area for those who like to surf in solitude.

Bali's heaviest waves are located in Padang-Padang which is about five minutes from the Anantara surf point. The left handed wave depends on a really large wave to work properly and when it does you are treated to deep resounding barrels and rides right up to the reef. You will find yourself shoulder to shoulder with professional surfers from around the world at this point well known as Indonesia's spot for the largest barrels. Do take precaution though as during low tide the tail sections of the waves are known to break on the pointed edges of the reef. The challenging barrel runs of course, should be left to the professionals. Intermediates should head to the right of the channel where a smaller left hander offers milder waves and is known as Baby Padang.

Bingin is located towards the end of The Impossibles and is well known to produce the prefect barrel. The clean sharp barrels are popular amongst all manner of surfers although the area can get quite shallow during low tide.

This is an ideal spot for beginners and intermediates. Bodyboarding and longboarding are popular activities here while the area is best surfed at low or mid tide. On the left of the beach is a mild A-frame wave and on the right a left hander.
