Jeremy's Top 10 Educational Technologies

Here is my Top 10 list of educational technologies, please feel free to add your suggestions!

1

Kahoot!

Kahoot!

Kahoot! is a fun way to make sure students have learned information presented in class. You can create your own quizzes, or use pre-made ones. They are multiple choice with an adjustable timer, typically 30 seconds or so, per question. Kahoot! keeps track of your answers and awards points for correct answers and for speedy answers, adding a competitive element to the learning experience. This is a great way to make learning fun, while still making sure that the students have learned the necessary information.

2

Edmodo

Edmodo

Edmodo makes learning a social experience. It has a layout similar to social media websites, making it familiar to students. Through the site, homework can be accessed, tests can be taken, and grades checked. Parents can even log in to check on the progress their children are making! They can also see announcements that the teachers make, view lesson and quiz results, and keep up with event schedules! Edmodo is available on computer and on mobile devices.

Plickers

Plickers

Plickers is an educational app that lets teachers obtain feedback in real time without requiring students to use devices. Waiting for students to log into a computer or download an app is not necessary, as the students use a QR code to give their answers. It allows students to be engaged and participate in class without feeling self-conscious.
