Bhutan beats the heart of Buddhism and the large Buddha statue found in Thimpu commemorates the significance of this faith. The Buddha statue in Thimpu is in fact iconic to this city and looms at a height of 55.5 metres. Constructed entirely out of bronze and gilded in gold, this masterpiece is definitely a sight to see. So serene is the face of the Buddha that this statue is said to radiate a peaceful aura.
