No visit to Singapore is complete without visiting Sentosa Island. The place is chock full attractions that are alluring to holidaymakers of all ages. Kids are well catered to as listed below.
This is a resort combined with a casino; hence a dose of kid and adult fun is kept in the balance. Resort World covers quite a big area of the island and is generally one of the first attractions visitors to Sentosa see. A marvellous combination of entertainment awaits you at the casino, restaurants, Sentosa luxury hotels, fascinating shops and the quirky Trick Eye Museum. The biggest lure – both here and on the entire island are Universal Studios, S.E.A. Aquarium, Adventure Cove Waterpark and fabulous Dolphin Island where children and parents can meet and greet the dolphins.
This is Sentosa Island's biggest attraction. The place will keep the whole family busy for an entire day. Meet your favourite characters as you wander around the 7 themed zones. There's Madagascar, The Lost World, Far Far Away from Shrek, the Mummy in Ancient Egypt, Sci Fi City complete with the Transformers and New York, home to lovable Sesame Street; each zone is well serviced with shops, eateries and entertainment options. Keeping the entertainment flowing are fun rides, live musical shows and fascinating street performances.
This sunny enclave is made up of the butterfly aviary, bird aviary and a fascinating museum. There are loads of quirky looking bugs on display at the museum while the colourful butterflies flitting amongst the flowers are a fascinating sight to children. The colourful birds are another thrilling encounter at this park which will leave kids in awe of nature and its wonders. Of course after an utterly satisfying day on Sentosa Island it is just as important to unwind and relax; look for accommodation at one of the best Sentosa resorts offering luxury family suites and modern comforts. Many offer entertainment and excellent dining facilities together with the best in contemporary design such as the W. Singapore Sentosa Cove; make sure to scout around and select the best.
This is the islands highest lookout point. It is an observatory tower that sits 131 metres above sea level. Climb this tower and you will be able to enjoy bird's eye views of the country as well as sights of neighbouring Indonesia and Malaysia – on a clear day.
The Sentosa Merlin staunchly guards the prosperity of Singapore. It is a 37 metre high statue with a lookout point located within its mouth. At the site one can buy prosperity coins for good luck and even ring the prosperity bell.
Kids will love riding in the luge and chairlift over Sentosa Island. The ride is in two parts; you can take the luge ride down to Imbiah and enjoy sights of the beach and then ride the chairlift back to the top. You can opt to enjoy the thrills in either order.
