It has a growing population and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is one of the last strongholds for grizzlies in the continental United States. Many photographers come here for he sole purpose of photographing these charismatic animals. The best places to look out for grizzlies in Yellowstone are Dunraven Pass, Lamar Valley, Hayden Valley, and Sedge Bay. Sightings in these areas are very common due to large densities of these amazing animals. People have reported 5+ grizzly sightings in a day and 13 sightings on a 6 day trip.

Though grizzlies are common in Yellowstone, black bears are still very abundant. Yellowstone has one of the highest densities of these marvelous animals. The best place to look out for the is Tower Region.. On some days in June and July, you cannot drive a mile without stopping for bear jams. People have seen 16 different bears within a ten mile stretch in this area.

Black bears, the world's most common bear are very numerous and easily view able in the Sequoia National Park in the Sierra Mountains of eastern California. While there are large populations of black bears in many places in United States, they are not habituated to human presence. The bears in Sequoia are habituated to people, so they will do their thing right in front of people. They have been known to suckle, graze, and even hunt in front of people in Sequoia National Park. The best time to see bears in May because they are coming down to lower elevations. June is also very good, and they can be spotted all the way till August. After that the chances are much less to spot them. The best area to spot them is in the Giant Forest, where there is the largest population of habituated bears. The crescent meadow trail is the best trail to spot them and Dorst Campground is the best camp to see them. Peeople have spotted up to 33 bears in 3 days in the giant forest, probably the highest in the entire continental United States.

Other highlights of Sequoia is the large and beautiful Sequoia trees. Other wildlife highlights include deer and some years ago there was a mountain lion spotted every day around the Dorst Campsite.

But not only does it offer beautiful landscapes and breathtaking hikes, it also offers great viewing of one of America's most sough after and feared predators: the grizzly bear.

Glacier National Park has one of the highest if not the highest densities of grizzly bears in the continental United States.This high density makes the bears easy to spot.They are frequently spotted with their cubs. The highest density of bears reside in the Many Glacier area, where grizzlies are frequently spotted due to high density and habituation. They are often far away. People have reported daily grizzly bear sightings in the Many Glacier Area of Glacier National Park.

Other highlights of Glacier National Park is towering glaciers and mountains. It also has beautiful lakes and very good hikes. Other wildlife highlights include a good population of black bears, which are also spotted frequently in the Many Glacier Area. Another highlight is a large population of moose. Glacier National Park is probably the best place other than Maine to see moose in continental United States. They are frequently spotted in all the marshes in the park. Another very impressive highlight is the large population of wolverines. There are 45 in the park, which is an extremely high density for a park of Glacier National Park's size. The Highline Trail is claimed by some to be the best place to see wolverines in the world.

The Grand Teton has a huge population of bears. Black bears are spotted very frequently. One person saw seven different black bears all within walking distance. They are in high number and are very frequently photographed. Grizzly bears are also very common They are spotted frequently on specific roads. Cubs are also frequently spotted. Some people have been to Yellowstone and Grand Teton and have only seen bears in the Grand Teton National Park.

Moose are very common in Grand Teton National Park, much more so than Yellowstone. They are spotted very frequently wallowing in the bodies of water like swamps, marshes, and ponds. Many people spot moose here more commonly than Yellowstone.

Other wildlife highlights include a large number of elk, wolves, and bison. Many people say that general game like moose, elk, and bison are sighted more here than in Yellowstone. But its wildlife, so you never know.
