Chef Johnny Hernandez will represent the city of San Antonio in a breakfast taco cooking competition versus a yet-to-be-named Austin chef. The competition will be judged by a panel of culinary media representatives including Food & Wine Magazine. This battle came to be as a result of the recent social media “taco war” which pitted citizens of Austin and San Antonio against each other in a viral argument about which city can lay claim to being the true “Home of the Breakfast Taco.”

The event is free and open to all SXSW attendees. Tacos and coffee will be served. Space is limited so admission will be first-come-first-serve.

Breakfast tacos will also be served free to SXSW attendees at Casa San Antonio on Saturday, March 12th, and Sunday, March 13th.
