We started out with rules and netiquette but the internet of today is pretty brutal so here are some tips for maintaining a clean professional profile and holding on to your creations in online spaces.

Account frozen in time. Make sure you have access to your accounts through more than one service. If you authenticate using a social media account, what happens when you leave that account? This is the result of leaving X !
Make sure your professional profile is honest and updated. The Gravatar Profile tool is really useful and free.
NEVER share passwords. Use secure passwords and change them now and again. They are the key to accessing your data. Once the door is open, anything can happen.
Make time to clean up your accounts and files. If you have multiple Google accounts for example, sign in and delete old passwords which may be stored there. Move files out on to a separate hard disc to free up space. Run the disc clean up on your PC.
