Also known as the Pink City, Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and the home of the Jaipur Literature Festival that is held in January every year. The ‘pink’ of the Pink City however is more a hue of brown, known as geruwa in Hindi, in which the city was coated during the visit of the Prince of Wales in 1905-06. Known for its fascinating monuments and colorful markets, gorgeous handloom garments and wonderfully laid-out gardens, it is not difficult to fall in love with Jaipur the moment you land there.

Capital of the erstwhile kingdom of Mewar, Chittorgarh is located on the banks of river Gambhiri in the Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan. The Chittorgarh fort, from which the city derives its name, stands as a testimony to the Rajput pride and valor. Venue to several glorious battles, the one most remembered was the siege by Ala-ud-din Khilji when rather than falling into the hands of the attackers, the women committed jauhar (self-immolation) while the men went to war.

Bada bagh is worth visiting for the people who are interested in archaeological heritage of India. This place gives pleasure to a persons eyes watching the calm and rich view of amazing architecture composed by the then rulers of Rajasthan. There is also a garden in Bada bagh. Though the garden is not in good state but the exquisite carvings on the tombstones and the chattris is worth watching.

Famous for its architecture, paintings and festivals, Bundi is a small city in the Hadoti region of Rajasthan. Situated 36 km from Kota, the city is set in narrow encircling gorge and appears like a miniature painting.
Termed as ‘Queen of Hadoti’, the city gets its name from king Bundi Meena of the Meena tribe, a prominent local tribe. The city was named as ‘Bundi ka nal’; the word ‘nal’ means narrow ways. Later in 1342 AD, Rao Deva Hara took over the region from Jaita Meena and renamed the city as Bundi.

Located in Rajasthan, Alwar’s history dates back to 1500 BC. Located around 160 km south of Delhi and about 150 km north of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Alwar is popular among international and domestic tourists mainly because of its proximity to the famous Sariska Tiger Reserve.

Considered to be one of the architectural landmarks of Jodhpur, Jaswant Thada is popularly known as the ‘Taj Mahal of Marwar’. The royal monument is a cenotaph dedicated to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the 33rd ruler of Jodhpur.
Located in the vicinity of Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh, for his father in 1899.

Known for producing the best riding camels in the world, Bikaner, in the desert state of Rajasthan, is also known as the ‘Camel Country’. The Ship of the Desert is an indivisible part of life here. Be it pulling heavy carts to transport grains and goods or working on wells, camels are the prime helpers. From catering and fashion to travelling and entertainment, the camel is a day-to-day necessity.

The wells of Bikaner, an important resource of water for the locals, are another attraction of the city.
