Small alternative high school servicing students who are over age or at risk in traditional school systems. AmeriCorps NCCC

AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) strengthens communities and develops leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. They offer a 10-month job training for young people 18 to 24 years old who are committed to community service and give a $4,000 or $1,500 stipend, meals and money towards education when you complete the program.

BCYF Condon Community Center

Center is home to an award-winning after-school program and the first community-based GED testing site in Massachusetts. Offers programs for ages 5 to 85 including a pool, gym, computer lab, senior center, playground, outdoor stage, youth room, and meeting space. Shares a building with the James F. Blackstone Community Center

Programs include youth etiquette classes, GED classes (offered in English and Spanish), theater arts, karate classes, after school care and academic support (math and reading), aquatics, baseball, and basketball. Boston Asian: Youth Essential Service (Y.E.S.)

Youth service agency for Asian youth from Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and other Asian countries, as well as those born in America. EDCO Youth Alternative

The EDCO Youth Alternative provides a full academic program for Boston residents, along with counseling, part time employment, and related student services, for students who require a more supportive environment than a large, traditional high school can offer. Program serves youth 16-21 years of age, in grades 9 through 12, who are at risk, drop outs, non-attenders, pregnant and/or parenting teens who have their children enrolled in a licensed day care program.
