Demo Jam

If you’re a product developer or an information developer who has created a noteworthy technical solution, propose a 10-minute demo of your solution. Are you addressing a specific challenge or developing a new approach? Have you developed a new way of delivering content to customers? The room will be set up for progressive presentations. You have 10 minutes to present and answer questions before the signal for participants to switch to another presentation (or stay with you if they’re really interested).

Unlock the content in your PDFs

Unlock the content in your PDFs

Quite often information only exists in PDFs that were created before a company implemented their content management system along with XML. The challenge is how to capture the content in the PDFs and convert it to XML so that it can be reused, searched, made accessible, etc. This demo will show one method of do that.

Demo Jam! Creating Content Collaboratively with a CCMS

Many people within an organization can contribute valuable insights to technical communications projects based on their expertise and it should be your goal to capture this information. For example: information architects understand how content should be presented, engineers can best describe functionalities they have developed, while your support team knows what your customers are asking or looking for.

It is truly beneficial to have all of these resources involved in the production of technical communications in order to deliver the most accurate content to your customers.

In this Demo Jam, Jean-François will present the IXIASOFT DITA CMS, a component content management solution which offers a great way to manage modular content based on DITA and to optimize content reuse. DITA CMS provides organizations with all of the tools necessary to easily obtain #collaboration, input and feedback from these valuable resources that are not always part of the technical documentation team.

*During his presentation, Jean-François will demo: *

  • a powerful user interface for authors
  • an intuitive web interface for non-technical resources
  • an annotation tool for reviewers

Participants who are looking for an enterprise-class, end-to-end #CCMS solution should not miss this presentation!

Demo-Jam: Live feedback to authors

Demo-Jam: Live feedback to authors

Authors are just like people: they like to get recognition for what they do. Feedback engages people, as long as it is well-timed and relevant.

Real-time feedback can be given on content-quality, such as readability, Search Engine Score, the presence of thesaurus terms, but also live statics on use, sharing and comments. All of these are ingredients of a truly engaging authoring environment.

Generating e-learning courses from DITA content

Generating e-learning courses from DITA content

Training organizations are still hesitant at embracing DITA. One key reason is the lack of presentation outputs similar to what is currently being produced in Powerpoint, Camtasia, Madcap Flare, and the like. This transform produces interactive e-learning similar to the outputs from traditional learning and training development tools, and it reuses content also intended for documentation outputs at the same time.

The Collaboration Experience Through your Mobile Device or Browser

Collaborate with others on your team or in your organization to ensure your content is ready for prime-time. Make it easy and interesting for reviewers and SMEs to add an image to content or cross-reference information that explicitly allows them to more clearly express their viewpoint. With the Astoria Webapp you can enable these experts, and others on your team, to join the collaboration experience easily through their mobile device or browser. The Astoria Webapp Demo will bring this experience to life and demonstrate these content mark-up/collaboration features.
