When my son brought home this really charming and heart-warming hand drawn "about me" book, I instantly wanted him to tell me about each picture. His descriptions were so amusing and charming, I felt inspired and compelled to create a digital artifact of his work...

In preparation for this week's Tech Forum Austin presentation entitled, "Technology in the Early Grades", I have been gathering some resources and examples to share that exhibit evidence of learning. App-Smashed Book Reports: This one in particular was a book report project for my primary-age son.

Lisa Johnson is the CEO and founder of TechChef4u, an Apple Distinguished Educator, and a mother of two mobile natives. Lisa also serves the Eanes ISD school district in Austin, Texas as an Educational Technologist supporting their K12 1:1 iPad initiative. Over the summer, my second grade son began writing his "Pirit Story" [pirate].

I guess this is what happens when your mom is both an educator and an Ed Tech... My second grader recently brought home a bottle biography project. We finished the written portion a few weeks ago knowing that we still had the craft module to complete.

This video is an example of how students can bring their lego creations to life without using stop-motion animation. The Shadow Puppet EDU app allows students to capture the inspiration behind their unique building designs and easily bring those to life.
