If you hate ironing, you might be tempted by a clothes steamer. Even though there are some fantastic new irons available, how do they measure up to clothes steamers? Which is better? In my view a clothes steamer outweighs an iron by far, but then I am rubbish at ironing and passing steam over a hanging garment is almost fool proof! You actually see the wrinkles melting away, but I found with ironing that I would make as many creases as those I managed to remove (and not very well at that). If you are really awful at ironing, you are not alone as I am terrible at ironing! We do not have many items that need decrinkling in our house, just shirts really, but even after a quarter of an hour, I am still turning the shirt over and over, but then I switched to steam and never looked back!

Irons have come a long way since their invention, but, no matter what kind of iron I ever bought, I was still just horrible at ironing! Then along came my steamer. This was recommended to me by a lady who worked in a bridal shop; one of her tasks was steaming the silk and satin dresses so that they would be perfect for the bride. I watched her and found that often she would steam from the inside of the garments, I do this too - I just hang up a shirt and aim the steamer at the back of the shirt and slowly pass it through the arm holes - the wrinkles just melt away!
