I mentioned in a recent post that I scored some great beer from a friend's beer shop in PA. Two of those beers are varieties of Ballast Point's Sculpin IPA, grapefruit and habanero.
We spent Saturday afternoon with our friend Fred in the Virginia wine country. We headed west on I-66 to visit (for Carol and I a re-visit) to Arterra Wines. Arterra is located on Leeds Manor road. Just exit I-66 at Rt 17 north. Continue on past Deleplane Cellars.
Paul and I have not posted lately because we've been preoccupied with a very special event-our wedding! Yes, we got married on February 20 and then hosted a celebration dinner on February 21 at Chef Geoff's restaurant in DC. And yes, Virginia wines helped to make the event very memorable.
This week marks one year since I started Wineographer! It seems like such a short time since I started, but at the same time my first official review seems like so long ago. In the past year I visited almost 40 new Virginia wineries, hosted my first blind tasting, harvested grapes, visited the Northern Neck wine region for the first time, and found some new favorite wineries.
