Mindfulness has become a buzz word and as a result its meaning is murky. If we go in search of the original meaning we are apt to find mindfulness means be present in the moment or focus your attention on right now. If you see a line of clothes or a candy bar using the word mindfulness just smile. Someone somewhere is selling a green tea smoothy that will expand your mindfulness, it won't, but it might taste good.


I traveled long distances and spent many weeks living in tiny rooms in my search to develop a Mindfulness Practice and understand the secret to mindfulness itself. But the joke was on me, there is no secret, there is only the simplicity of each moment. It may sound somewhat hokey but the old saying "be here now" is all we need to know. Oh sure there are layers of understanding that simple phrase, but all that's required is putting one foot in front of the other and repeating. Consistency is the key not some secrets deeply hidden in a cave in the Himalayas.
