Deiva Thirumagal

Deiva Thirumagal

My parents who were initially reluctant to watch this movie got hooked on to it in ten minutes and we were all in tears when it ended. This movie is simply wonderful and a must watch.

Thanmathra

This movie "portrays the effects of Alzheimer's disease on the life of an individual and his family. The film bagged five Kerala state film awards for the Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay and a special mention for the debutant actor Arjun Lal."

Abhiyum Naanum

Abhiyum Naanum

Its common to have heard that dads are most fond of their daughters. This movie is just that: it shows how an over-protective, loving father sees his daughter grow up, and how he copes with her future choices.

2

Mozhi

Mozhi

A famous, talented musician finds joy and love in a mute girl and falls for her. Mozhi is truly amazing and must not be missed.

Thanga Meengal

Thanga Meengal

Though Thanga Meengal did not achieve much popularity, it is one of those rare hidden gems gone missing and that's never appreciated for its value. With that being said, go ahead and watch it. You'll rediscover love.

Bommukutti Ammavukku

Bommukutti Ammavukku

I have watched this movie for about 5 times so far, and it never ceases to amaze me. A couple lose their precious daughter, adopt another after coping with their loss only to discover the adopted daughter's mother's plight and give her back. Extremely moving and inspiring, this one!

7

Sethu

Sethu

Sethu is about a man who falls in love, is thwarted and turns mad as a result of that. BUT the movie is so much more than just this description that I think it won a National Award and shot the actor, Vikram, to enormous fame. Must-watch.

Moondram Pirai

Moondram Pirai

Show me one person who doesn't cry or isn't moved after watching this movie, and that person is definitely the most stoic on earth. Kamal Haasan and Sridevi are exceptionally wonderful in their roles and simply make it more than a mere movie.

9

Sagara Sangamam

Sagara Sangamam

This movie is literally legendary. Enough said. Go ahead and watch it for this movie MUST be watched.

Thillu Mullu (1981)

Thillu Mullu (1981)

Laughing from inception till end? Yup, its possible with this movie. Also, the tireless comedies keep making one laugh though one's watched aplenty times before.

Kizhakku Vasal

Kizhakku Vasal

Set in the traditional South Indian scenery, this movie that literally means 'East Entrance' is about a poor boy whose living depends on his street-side singing and a rich man's consort-to-be. I simply love this movie and recommend it to all.
