One of the most popular activities in the United States is running. Not only is it healthy, but it can also be fun. Many dedicated runners undergo rigorous training to prepare themselves for some of the most popular running races in the States. These races attract thousands of runners each year, all with hopes of taking the trophy home.

OneAmerica 500 Festival Half-Marathon

The OneAmerica 500 is the largest half-marathon in the nation. The race takes place in downtown Indianapolis and has been around for 39 years. The course even includes a complete lap around the Indianapolis 500 racetrack.

Cooper River Bridge Run 10K

Taking place in Charleston, S.C., the Cooper River Bridge 10K is one of the toughest in the nation. Long before race day, proper training must be done in order to complete the race and run alongside some of the best runners in the nation. The race aims to promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone in the community.

The Chicago Marathon is one of the most prestigious in the United States and across the globe. The course winds through the beautiful historic streets of the Windy City, providing runners with beautiful scenery along the way.

BolderBOULDER 10K

Taking place in Boulder, Colorado, proper training is necessary before taking on this 10K. This race allows for running and walking, whichever participants prefer. The course runs through scenic Boulder City and ends at the University of Colorado’s football stadium.

Lilac Bloomsday Run 12K

Runners, walkers, wheelchairs and strollers are all welcome to participate the 12 kilometers in Spokane, Washington for this race. The beautiful course provides participants with a scenic view as they aim for the best time possible.

ING NYC Marathon

This race takes runners through New York’s Central Park and through the diverse city streets. The race attracts more than 50,000 racers each year, all who endure intense training to prepare for the course and the elements. The race serves as a model for other big-city races all around the world.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road 10K

This race is the most popular race in all of America with nearly 51,000 participants last year. This race takes runners on a tough and intense course that tests their endurance. Last year, it was called the safest race in 25 years, comforting runners as they embark on their 10K journey around Atlanta.
