I am a self-confessed Bibliophile and have developed a strong liking for these bookstores in Bangalore. If I'm ever near a bookstore, I make it a strict point to visit it. And of course, buy an armload of books! Here are a couple of must-visit bookstores in Namma Bengaluru.
You can buy both first and second hand books here at very cheap rates. What's more is that you can sell your books to the store, and also find some rare books on sale. Blossoms should be considered every time you want to buy even just one book.
Ever since I stumbled upon this store, its been my top favorite and I recommend it to everyone. For me, Bookworm holds the top slot. Used books are found abundantly and I promise your wallet won't cry when you come in here. They're pretty much the best.
Gangarams is one of Bangalore's landmarks. I've not been there yet, but I've heard that its worth checking out.
Higginbothams on MG Road is quite pricey no matter what book you buy. But they have a wonderful collection of all sorts of books which makes it a must-not-miss store.
Gandhinagar is one of Bangalore's hotspot areas and thus finding this store is not a task. Sapna is extremely famous in Bangalore and has many branches, and I personally recommend this branch. The store is cozy, has a good collection and it would be great if you have a Sapna voucher which can be exchanged for books.
Crossword is generally VERY expensive. But one can see a lot from Penguin Publishers in most of their stores and also books from new authors. So if at you feel adventurous and want to hunt for something new, head to Crossword!
Landmark is almost everywhere and is quite similar to Crossword in its stock of books and the pricing. Nonetheless, Landmark is nice.
There are so many books all over but there's not much aside from the general collection that's repeated in all bookstores. Yet, it has a relaxing atmosphere and kind staff.
Again, a large collection but nothing impressive as it stocks a lot of the general book collection any bookstore would have. A plus is that new releases are promptly displayed upfront so you won't have trouble in finding them at all.
The picture here is NOT of the bookstore as the bookstore doesn't have one of it on Google yet. This bookstore is a very small, cramped one located at Navrang. They're mostly a text books dealer for school. The proprietor is very kind and makes you want to keep going back. In all, they're excellent.
