Le Havre is a city in the Seine-Maritime department of the Haute-Normandie region in France. It is situated in north-western France, on the right bank of the mouth of the river Seine on the English Channel. Thursday morning, we arrived in our last port of call - Le Havre, France - around 7AM (but were allowed to get off by 7:30AM or so).
Le Havre (France) - UNESCO World Heritage - City Rebuilt by Auguste Perret . The city of Le Havre, on the English Channel in Normandy, was severely bombed during the Second World War. The destroyed area was rebuilt according to the plan of a team headed by Auguste Perret, from 1945 to 1964.
This city was completely rebuilt after it was devastated during the Battle of Normandy by Allied air attacks in WW II. Le Havre is now a UNESCO World Heritage site.
