Annoying Advertising Tactics

There is a right way and a wrong way to go about advertising and bringing in the customers. When advertisement tactics are over done or end up annoying people more than they capture their attention, it’s definitely not a good thing. Avoiding screaming ads that promote ridiculous products can only be beneficial to a business.

1

Too Many Emails

Too Many Emails

Sometimes, a company will send out way too many emails and although most people have them go directly to junk mail, they can still be annoying. Nobody wants to see the same email of some wicked sale that ends tomorrow, six times in one week. SEO may not skyrocket if the business comes off annoying via email.

2

Call Now

Call Now

“Hurry, call now this offer won’t last long,” pitches are just flat out annoying. Everyone knows that same commercial will be reaching TVs from Utah and across the nation for weeks to come and that the deal will still be valid next week.

3

Pop-Ups

Pop-Ups

Pop-up advertisements are usually more annoying than anything when someone is surfing the Internet. Unless it’s a great ad, it probably won’t increase SEO for any business so it might be best to just avoid them altogether.

4

Pandora Radio Ads

Pandora Radio Ads

It’s hard to think of something that’s more annoying than having a good pump at the gym interrupted by an advertisement on Pandora. Especially when it’s catered to an entirely different region than Utah, so it has nothing to do with anyone.

5

Are You Tired Of…?

Are You Tired Of…?

SEO probably won’t increase for a business if it is pitching its products in the form of a miraculous solution to an issue people didn’t know they had. Most of the time, people didn’t even know they needed a product that allows them to use a hammer correctly.

6

BOGO

BOGO

Buy one, get one free is a great way to increase sales. Until it gets thrown in that shipping and handling has to be paid and nobody is going to want to pay shipping across the world to their Utah home for a $9 item.

7

Infomercials

Infomercials

Sure, infomercials are a great way to explain how a product works and all of its great benefits and uses, but they’re usually way too cheesy. Not to mention the products rarely work as advertised.

Screaming Radio Ads

Screaming Radio Ads

Not only do these scare drivers as they’re trying to peacefully get from point A to point B, but they get ignored more than they get heard. It’s a second nature to change the radio station when commercials start anyways, especially when it’s one screaming at everyone about an irresistible deal that’s definitely resistible.
