Did you know that there is a global community of people dedicated to the values of Collaboration, Openness, Community, Accessibility, and Sustainability in their workplaces? It's called Coworking. And people seem to think it's swell.
Deskmag is the magazine about the new type of work and their places, how they look, how they function, how they could be improved and how we work in them. \
We especially focus on coworking spaces which are home to the new breed of independent workers and small companies.
Do you believe in community elves, culture fairies, or any other mythical creatures of collaboration?
Me either. I do believe in these 5 truths: True communities & great collaborations start with the foundation of a meaningful relationship, not a transaction. Learning is a part of everyday life, and we learn best from each other. Either the world happens to you, or you happen to the world.
We released our 2014 to 2018 global coworking forecast last week at the Global Coworking Unconference Conference (GCUC) in Kansas City. The number of global coworking facilities has been growing quite rapidly over the last 5 years, basically doubling in number each year.
New Worker Magazine is an independent digital publication by and for the freelancers, entrepreneurs, mobile workers and independents that make up the coworking community.
We are the only independent magazine by and for members of coworking spaces, but we definitely have ambitions beyond that.
There’s a wide world of collaborative workspace that includes makerspaces, hackerspaces, fab labs, etc., and we have upcoming stories about all of them. We envision connecting and empowering these communities and shaping them from the inside out.
If you are a coworker, space owner, or coworking enthusiast, this site belongs to you. You can request editing privileges with a sentence or two about why you're interested in coworking. If you're just visiting or here to learn more, there is a lot of information available for space owners, catalysts, and coworkers.
