Home remedies for face/hair problems

Having problems with your face being too oily or your hair being too frizzy? Here is a list of home remedies for your face and hair..

Apply some apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a powerhouse when it comes to acting as an acne remedy. Why? It kills off the bacteria that may be causing all the trouble in the first place. It also becomes alkaline, and balances the pH of your skin, which in turn makes it harder for bacteria to thrive. To top it off it’s an astringent, like lemon juice, and will help dry up excess oil. Keeping that in mind, don’t overdo and dry out your skin too much. This could cause the sebaceous glands overproduce to compensate, therefore triggering an outbreak.

You will need…
-Pure unfiltered apple cider vinegar
-Fresh water

Directions
Wash your face with water and pat dry. Using a ratio of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, dip a cotton ball into vinegar and apply it directly to the blemish. Leave on for at least 10 minutes, or overnight. Reapply several times a day, washing face thoroughly after each time. Make sure to use a moisturizer afterwards as well if you feel like your skin is getting dry.

Dark circles and puffy eyes

Tomato paste: Tomato is one kitchen ingredient that is easily available and is one of the most effective remedies for dark circles. Make a paste of some fresh tomatoes, a little lemon juice, a pinch of gram flour and turmeric powder. Now apply this paste around your eyes and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Following this procedure daily will eventually make your dark circles vanish.

Sun tan

Potatoes: Place slices of raw potatoes on the tanned area to remove it. This is not only effective in removing tan but also very effecting in lightening your skin tone.

Lemon and Rosewater: To remove tan, apply a mixture containing 5 tablespoons of rosewater and one table spoon of lime at bedtime and wash it off the next morning.

Turmeric powder and Lime: Form a paste of turmeric powder and lime and apply it to get it of suntans.

Blackheads

Baking soda is an effective treatment for blackheads as well as acne. It helps clear the skin of impurities such as debris and dirt.

Mix two teapoons of baking soda with mineral water to make a paste.
Apply the paste generously on the affected skin area and massage gently. Allow it to dry for a few minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
Repeat this remedy once or twice a week.

Oily T-Zone

Aloe vera treatment
Aloe vera is known to nourish the skin tissue and also helps maintain the pH balance. Apply some aloe vera gel on your t-zone, to control excess oil production. You could also use fresh extracts from the aloe vera plant on your face for 15 minutes and then rinse it off.

Almond oil and Egg

Almond oil acts as a natural hair emollient while the egg proteins repair the hair strands.

Mix 1/4th cup of almond oil with one raw egg and blend it well to form a smooth paste.
Apply this on hair and scalp, and wait 40 minutes before washing hair.
Rinse hair as usual with clean water.
Make sure to use a rich nourishing shampoo and conditioner.
This can be called the best home remedy for frizzy hair.

Dandruff

Beetroot and ginger paste: Take some ginger and beetroot and grind them to make a fine paste. Now, apply this paste on your scalp every night and massage them well. Later, wash it off in morning

Split Ends

One home hair treatment for split ends is a simple egg shampoo. For this treatment, all you need is an ounce of rosemary, preferably fresh, a pint of hot water, and one egg. What you want to do is steep your rosemary in the hot water for about 20 minutes, then let it cool. Once it's cooled down, beat your egg into it, then massage the mix into your hair and rinse, just as you would with a regular shampoo.

Lustrous and Healthy Locks

Yep, beer is said to have added benefits for your hair too. The malt and hops in beer are loaded with protein that nourishes and strengthens the hair. While the protein binds your dehydrated hair, the alcohol in beer also provides Vitamin B which gives your hair shine.

But before you run off to drink a few pints, the trick here is not to ingest the beer but to pour it over your head (insert your hilarious imagination here)

Depending on the length of your hair, you could use one pint or two. Pour the beer evenly over your head, from root to tip and leave on for 2-5 minutes. Then rinse off with cool water to avoid smelling like you fell into a beer barrel.

Hair fall

Coconut milk is among the richest sources of tissue-nourishing, plant derivatives. Grind the grated coconut and squeeze it to remove its juice. Massaging coconut milk (juice) on the scalp can also help in the management of hair fall.
