HealthPrize offers a customized online and mobile platform to motivate people to stick with important prescription medications, with the goal of improving health outcomes. HealthPrize is the leader in the use of rewards, gamification, and education (intrinsic motivation!) to engage and motivate patients with a focus on this key "healthy behavior." Poor adherence to prescription medications is estimated to cost the US healthcare system $290 billion in "otherwise avoidable spending" due to poor outcomes that could have been prevented. There is an increasing understanding that cost and forgetfulness are not the main drivers of non-adherence. Our natural human "present bias" is at the core for many patients.
