Kai Po Che!

A drama based on Chetan Bhagat's novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. A tale of friendship, love, ambition and the omni-present rift between cultures.

It's memorable because of how real the film feels and how we connect to the characters and their stories.

Aashiqui 2

A romantic, musical drama.
The film is a love story about a turbulent relationship between musicians Rahul and Arohi, marked heavily by Rahul's alcoholism and volatile temperament.

It's memorable because of it's MUSIC. The spell-bounding music brought to life every single emotion of this film and truly tugged at our heartstrings. We also found a gem of a singer in Arijit Singh.

Go Goa Gone

A zombie-comedy film starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Dar, Anand Tiwari and Puja Gupta.
Three friends go to Goa, on a holiday. After one fateful rave party, they find that everyone of the island apart from them has been infected by the "living dead". The film encompasses the antics of these friends and the zombie-slayer "from Russia" as they try to escape the island of the dead.

It's memorable because it's India's first zombie-comedy! And the music and humour are quite appealing to the youth.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

A coming-of-age romantic comedy film, directed by Ayan Mujherjee. It stars Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
It is the story of Naina who meets an old classmate Aditi and makes an impromptu decision to join Aditi and her friends, Bunny and Avi on a hiking trip to the Himalayas. Thus begins a tale of love and friendship, travel and talks, growing apart and growing closer.

It's memorable because of - well, a great number of things - the characters, the actors, the dialogues, the music, the locations, the... I think I'll stop there.

Raanjhanaa

A romantic drama film, by Anand L Rai, starring Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol.
The story of Kundan Shankar and his obsessive, one-sided love for Zoya Haider. In this film, we walk with Kundan through his life where he loves with all his heart and loses with all his heart.

It's memorable because of Dhanush and A.R.Rahman's music. You can't not love Dhanush in this film and the songs will move you everytime you hear them.

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

A biographical sports drama film, by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, starring Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Divya Dutta among others.
It is a film based on the life of Milkha Singh, an Indian athlete who was a national champion runner and an Olympian.

It's memorable because of Farhan Akhtar's sincerity in acting and for bringing the inspiring story of Milkha Singh before us.

Lootera

A period drama, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and starring Ranvir Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. It is partly based on O. Henry's short story The Last Leaf.
In this film, we see Pakhi and Varun struggle with emotions of morality, righteousness and motive while the underlying feeling of love tries to emerge through conquering all.

It's memorable because of Ranvir and Sonakshi's performances, which could be called their finest yet. The attention to detail in recreating the period backdrop and music only add to the ethereal feel of the film.

Bombay Talkies

An anthology film, consisting of four short films, directed by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar. The film released on 3 May 2013, coinciding with and celebrating the centenary year of Indian cinema and the beginning of a new era in modern cinema.

The film has stories of homosexual love and the feelings we hide in our hearts (in Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh), an adaptation of Satyajit Ray's short story "Patol Babu, Film Star" (in Star), of following your dreams, no matter how different or not conforming to society they may be (in Sheila ki Jawaani) and how life takes a full circle, in the funniest ways (in Murabba)

It's memorable because of the sheer power of storytelling, the brilliant actors and even more brilliant writers.

Ship of Theseus

A drama film, written and directed by Anand Gandhi.
The film explores "questions of identity, justice, beauty, meaning and death through the stories of an experimental photographer, an ailing monk and an enterprising stockbroker", played by Aida El-Kashef, Neeraj Kabi and Sohum Shah.

It's memorable because it is intense, thought-provoking, and I guarantee, this films leaves you changed for the better. This is not just a film, it's an experience.

Chennai Express

A drama-comedy by Rohit Shetty, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.
It is a larger than life tale of a 'common man' called Rahul and his chance enounter with Meenamma and how it changes his life.

It's memorable because of Rohit Shetty's penchant for making highly entertaining films. Infused with daredevil stunts and slapstick comedy, this is a film enjoyed by most of the masses.

Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela

A romantic drama by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starring Ranvir Singh and Deepika Padukone. It is an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, set in violent times.

This film showcases the turbulent life and dynamic love between Ram and Leela, between violent altercations between their respective families.

It's memorable because of the sounds, the colours, the sights - the film feels like a painting coming to life.

The Lunchbox

An epistolary romantic film, written and directed by Ritesh Batra, starring Irfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
It is a bittersweet tale of two people who stumble upon each other by chance and develop an unlikely, but heartwarming, relationship.

It's memorable because of its simplicity and heart-touching moments. The actors do a marvellous job and the food in the lunchbox really does leave your mouth watering.
