ReadWriteThink's Word Mover mobile app allows children and teens to create "found poetry" by choosing from word banks and existing famous works; additionally, users can add new words to create a piece of poetry by moving/manipulating the text.

Synonym MATCH is an interactive, educational, fun match game for school age children, adults and lifelong learners. The object of the game is to reveal pairs of Synonyms by turning over the cards.

Playing this game is the perfect way to increase vocabulary development, reading, spelling and concentration.

Compound Word Match

Compound Word MATCH is an interactive, educational, fun match game for school age children, adults and lifelong learners. This app would also be beneficial for English Language Learners!

The object of the game is to reveal Compound Words by turning over the cards. Compound Words are two words joined together to form one word.

Homophone Match

Homophone MATCH is an interactive, educational, fun match game for school age children, adults and lifelong learners. This app would also be beneficial for English Language Learners!

The object of the game is to reveal pairs of Homophones by turning over the cards. Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings.

Antonym Match

Antonym MATCH is an interactive, educational, fun match game for school age children, adults and lifelong learners. This app would also be beneficial for English Language Learners!

The object of the game is to reveal pairs of Antonyms by turning over the cards. Antonyms are words with opposite meanings.

Singular and Plural Match

Singular and Plural MATCH is an interactive, educational, fun match game for school age children, adults and lifelong learners. This app would also be beneficial for English Language Learners!

The object of the game is to match the singular and plural form of a word.

Double Letter Match

Double Letter MATCH is an interactive, educational, fun match game for school age children, adults and lifelong learners. This app would also be beneficial for English Language Learners!

The object of the game is to match the beginning of the word to the end of the word. In Double Letter Match there are words that have the same letter consecutively. (Example: but – ton)

This word matching game develops vocabulary and word understanding for school-aged children. Shine bright in single-player mode as you learn and practice important word skills. Match rhyming words, prefixes and suffixes, synonyms, homophones, adjectives, and more.

Collaborate with a friend in team mode. The multi-touch iPad screen allows both players to play simultaneously, so you can work together to weather the vocabulary storm.

Bluster includes over 800 vocabulary words. Players choose a skill to practice and then try to make matches of three. Ten matches wins a round.

Alphabet Organizer

The Alphabet Organizer enables children to create a calendar-style alphabet chart or letter pages for an alphabet book. Younger children can print the letter pages and draw pictures of things that start with each letter. They can also use the chart to learn the order of the alphabet and which words start with which letters—an important building block for reading.

Older children can take the tool a step further, using the option that allows room for words and notes. It’s ideal for studying vocabulary words or organizing thoughts about a topic.

Images can be add into each letter categories, greatly expanding users' ability to make a vibrant alphabet book.

Acrostic Poem

This app allows users to learn about and write acrostic poems, a poetry form that uses the letters in a word to begin each line of the poem. All lines of the poem relate to or describe the main topic word.

Theme Poem

This app allows users to learn about and write theme poems. A theme poem is a poem written within the shape of subject of the poem, such as writing about a birthday cake in the shape of a cake.

Diamante Poem

In this app, users can learn about and write diamante poems, which are diamond-shaped poems that use nouns, adjectives, and gerunds to describe either one central topic or two opposing topics (for example, night/day or winter/spring). Examples of both kinds of diamante poems can be viewed online or printed out.

Haiku Poem

With this app, students can learn about and write haiku, a popular Japanese poem that traditionally has three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. They begin by brainstorming words for their poem, and then they compose their poem with attention to how many syllables they’ve written for each line. The final step allows students to customize the design of their poem with one of the provided artistic backgrounds or by uploading their own image.
