DO: Provide Clear Expectations
Provide a "realistic job preview" so the volunteer knows what they're signing up for!

DON'T: Oversell the role
Volunteers will learn REAL quick when they've been tricked in to a role that isn't what was promised. Be honest up front and avoid disengaging your volunteers!

Do: Put their effort in context
Make sure your volunteers understand how their efforts impact the overall objectives of the group. Keep them in the loop on accomplishments and celebrate together!
