Bought the Honeywell HCM-350 two months ago to help to eliminate the dryness in our bedroom during the winter months. The unit is quiet and attractive. We run it on low, 24 hrs. a day, and you don't even notice any sound coming from it. It has eliminated the dry stuffy nose problems you always have in a house heated with forced air heat. Both my wife and I sleep better and breath easier during the night. I would recommend this unit to anyone wanting to humidify a single large room. It will NOT humidify an entire house, but may do the job for a small apartment. I would definitely recommend this unit to friends. The filter needs to be replaced periodically as minerals from your tap water will accumulate with time. The filter life can be extended by soaking it in vinegar and rinsing it out once it gets "limed up". The filter will still need to be replaced with this cleaning method, but not as often. Amazon offers the best price I've found.
It's our third humidifier, and it's by far the best! It's super quiet, it's on all night. I love the fact that you can turn the LED night light on or off, so you don't have to be covering it with a towel. All of the functions / buttons work great, they're just enough for what's needed - a low medium or high setting, cold/warm, etc. My favourite part is the double nozzle that you can turn so the vapour can go in two directions! Covers the room faster and it's not concentrated in one spot. You see this especially if you have it on a medium or high setting. This is a really really great feature.
The 7147 is the quietest humidifier we have ever owned. It has easy to read digital controls, and the humidistat stays within one degree of one that also hangs on the wall in our bedroom. The filters do their job nicely and the warm mist setting keeps the room from feeling clammy.
