One of my favorite (and most useful) gifts was a family membership to our local zoo. The whole family enjoyed going to the zoo all year long - and it was wonderful not to have to think about the ticket cost each time that we went.

DVD's are a brilliant Christmas present for 3 reasons. Number 1: Films are something that people will easily mention that they want to see without you needing to resort to Chinese water torture to get it out of them.

We get asked a simple question a lot this time of year. "What are the best family board games?" and "What board games should we get for our family?" This year we're trying something different. We thought it would be a good idea to share the perspective of each member of our family on what games they'd put at the top of such a list.

We have some friends that live across the country from us and every year, they send us Christmas gifts - and always include gifts for each person (my husband, our daughter and myself). We also send them a gift, but the past few years we have sent "family gifts", like a movie and popcorn night (Christmas movies, candy, popcorn, etc.).

Don't let Christmas gifts break your budget this year. As a mom of many, I realize that Christmas strikes fear in the hearts of many who buy us presents. I didn't have a large family in order to get a lot of Christmas gifts, in fact many large families feel overwhelmed with the amount of stuff already taking over their homes.
