Today we are thrilled to present Pocket 5.0 & Pocket Preferences. Earlier this morning we gathered the press, partners and 10 lucky Pocket users to share what we've been working on. And now, we want to share it with you. www.getpocket.com
Some photos are on your smartphone. Others sit on your home computer. Your digital work documents, favorite web clippings and notes from meetings? Scattered like confetti after New Year's Eve. If you've embraced a digital lifestyle, this situation is probably all too familiar. Thankfully, there are services available to help those of us in need.
Storehouse is a new iPad app for visual storytelling with your pictures and video clips. The basic idea behind Storehouse is to create stories by combining images, text, and video clips on a blank canvas. To create your stories you can import pictures and video from your iPad's camera roll, from Instgram, from Dropbox, and from Flickr.
Typically, I download apps and they live within my ipad in a bit of an "app graveyard" until I find a purpose. I will say that I was intrigued by StoreHouse from the start. Storehouse enables users to share media files from their camera roll, instagram, dropbox and flickr into a web page where they can then add text to form digital stories.
With version 7.3 of the app, users can select from one of three color themes for their homescreen.
While there are so many iPad apps that deliver content, I think the one of the best uses for technology in education is to make something with what you're learning. This might include producing a video, authoring a digital book, recording a puppet show, creating a college, narrating a slideshow, designing a comic book, or somehow making your own media and study aids.
