The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
Though Tolle draws from a wide range of spiritual traditions, IMO this book includes sufficient references from Hindu and Buddhist philosophies to be included in this list.

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hinduism
Don't let the title fool you. By far the best general book on Indian spirituality I have ever read. Really conveys what it means to be Indian/Hindu from a spiritual and religious point of view.
Comprehensive coverage of the many many facets of hinduism, and related belief systems, and they get the fundamentals right. Learned a lot from this that I didn't know about a culture I grew up in.

Tao Te Ching - Translated by stephen Mitchell
Although not strictly Indian, this is a great book about the atman. Mitchell does a really good job of keeping the spirit of the text intact by being lose about the word for word translation.

Raja Yoga by Vivekananda
This is another intense but thorough book about... Raja Yoga - a method of "liberation" through self effort.
