Top 5 Best Email Marketing Tools (2023)

Finding a good email marketing platform as a business owner is downright terrible. You have to wade through a bunch of affiliate marketing junk on Google and nobody is telling you the truth about the software. Here's the best services I've found, depending on your use case.

Audienceful

Audienceful is a newcomer to the Email Marketing space and my current favorite. They have a fresh take on the email editor experience, and feels like using a modern collaborative productivity tool like Notion. Deliverability has been excellent so far.

Constant Contact

Constant Contact

Are you a flower shop in rural Alabama? This is the tool for you. It's cheesy and old school, but dummy proof for clients who are older and non-technical.

Substack

Substack

If you're a journalist or writer looking to sell paid newsletter subscriptions, this is the platform I'd use. However, I would not actually recommend trying to do this. Unless you have a large existing audience on another platform, you're going to be trapped in the so-called "creator economy" race-to-the-bottom and most likely give up. The amount of grinding you'd have to do to start from zero these days is not worth it.

Klayvio

Klayvio

If you have a Shopify store, you've probably heard of Klayvio. Generally, using the tool is big pain, but they do have great analytics and super easy plug-and-play forms/sequences that are well suited to ecommerce. It's expensive, but the default in ecomm now for a reason.

Mailchimp

Mailchimp

Mailchimp is the tried and true tool but its feeling super outdated and bloated these days. Especially after they got sold to Intuit and started raising prices. I wouldn't really recommend them these days but no list would be complete with mentioning them near the top.
