Hello SharePointers, The SharePoint August Cumulative updates have been released for both SharePoint 2010 and 2013.
Unless you were on vacation for the past three weeks, by now you know that SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 2 is out and ready to be installed! If you're looking for the announcement, or download links, check out this post: SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 2 Released .
Recently I read a great article by Wendy Neal called 10 Ways to Make a Splash in the SharePoint Community, in which she explains some steps that you can take to become more popular in the community.
Every month I do an article about all the resources I found online about SharePoint 2013. These Free SharePoint 2013 Resources come from Microsoft directly or from other partners but unfortunately not a lot of people check regularly and sometimes they are well hidden.
I was going to write about this, however, Brad Shanon posted it as a great article on his new blog: SharePoint Can Do That. So , SharePoint 2010 Service Pack 2 has finally been released! About time!
This Post contains a bunch of Free Step by Step SharePoint Server 2013 Lab Guides that Microsoft gives for free on its Download Center. Usually I post them together with the other free resources that Microsoft offers, however this is a Test Lab Guide (TLG) only post, and the rest of the resources will come later in the month.
I am glad to announce the release of the first version of The ultimate SharePoint 2013 Certification Guide on my Blog! The Guide has been out since June 4th, however it was exclusive to SharePoint Community Members. This guide is aimed at anyone who is considering studying for SharePoint Certifications either to improve their knowledge or to validate existing knowledge about SharePoint.
Build 2013 was in San Francisco this year, and for all the ones like me who weren't lucky enough to be able to attend, Microsoft is nice enough and gives a lot of the sessions out for free!
This Blog post contains all the embedded YouTube SharePoint Marketing Videos that are found in the Discover SharePoint Adoption Kit.
Microsoft is not known for the amount of SharePoint advertising they do... because they didn't really do any in the past. However, in the past few weeks Microsoft doubled their efforts and released some very great pieces of advertising.
Every two months, Microsoft releases a Cumulative Update for SharePoint Server, both 2010 and 2013. Here are the links and descriptions for the SharePoint Server 2013 June 2013 Cumulative Update and the other products in the family!

TechEd Europe 2013 was in Madrid this year, and for all the ones like me who weren't lucky enough to be able to attend, Microsoft is nice enough and gives a lot of the sessions out for free!
Second time I talk about the new Yammer App this week, and it's the second time that it's bad news unfortunately. If you are a SharePoint Admin or IT Pro Consultant, you know why not a lot of us like the way Microsoft forces us to install the on-premise Application...
As you all probably heard by now, we can finally integrate Yammer into SharePoint 2013 on Premise. You can download the procedure here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=39357. However, it's pretty delicate, since you will have to modify files in the SharePoint Core Files.
As you probably know, I have been blogging a lot about the SharePoint 2013 MCSD Path. Why? Because Microsoft still did not release any official information about it! Even if the 70-488 and 70-489 have been made publicly available on June 20 2013, Microsoft still did not release the full path!

Hey guys, over the past months I have covered the news about the MCSD SharePoint 2013 exam. It was all myths until earlier this month when Microsoft finally reveled information about the 71-488, and 71-489. I thought my coverage was over.. but no! As I said in my last post, the Beta exams are open..
Microsoft released today an Important Security Update for SharePoint 2013. However, be careful with the details! This security update resolves a publicly disclosed vulnerability in Microsoft SharePoint Server. The vulnerability could allow information disclosure if an attacker determined the address or location of a specific SharePoint list and gained access to the SharePoint site where the list is maintained.
After Microsoft released information about the 70-489 exam last week, they finally released the information about the second SharePoint 2013 exam 70-489. Furthermore, towards the end of the post I found some information that suggests you can already take the Beta exams! Here we go: This is really interesting.
