Unusual things to do in Kuala Lumpur -Some interesting ways to discover the city

KL is no stranger to some fantastic attractions, however here are some unique sights you shouldn't miss while exploring this vibrant city.

1

Discover the painted alleyways

Nearby the corner central shopping district of Bukit Bintang, you can find a group of lanes that pop up with colour. Although Kuala Lumpur is commonly a rather safe city to visit, certain narrow pathways and roads had become unseemly, and dangerous-looking. So, in a bit to brighten up such places, the city initiated the Laneway project. So, now people and tourists can walk without some lanes without having to feel it's unsafe.
The most well-known is the road with clouds, which is near Changkat Bukit Bintang, as well as AJalan Rembia near Jalan Alor and a road in Chinatown called Kwai Chai Hong.

2

Meet a robot waiter

Lot 10 Houtong is a fiesta of street food. The colourful food court is packed with serving stalls dishing out some of Kuala Lumpur's finest street food in a clean, convenient, location. It is a popular place, and finding a seat can get tricky during lunchtime. But here you will find the robot waitress in the Koong Woh Tong stall, which serves herbal jelly drinks! While there don't forget to try the best banana fritters in KL !
You can also encounter robot waitresses at the Pavilion elite shopping mall at the Nam Hoeng Vintage.

3

Walk among tree tops

The KL Forest Eco Park is found at the bottom of the KL Tower and here you can find the Canopy Walk. It is a 200-metre dangling walkway that takes you right into the treetops.
The KL Forest Eco Park is free for all visitors and a fun way to end a visit to the KL Tower at 421 meters in height it happens to be the 7th highest tower in the world. The tower however is not free, and tickets can be booked online as well to avoid long queues.
Go back in time
The district of Kampung Baru is one of the most interesting areas to visit in Kuala Lumpur.
It's a suburban region with charming homes and old restaurants and shops. From this location, one can get some great pics of the Petronas Towers as well. Kampung Baru also has Pasar Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur's central wet market.

Experience the durian

The famous spike fruit with an interesting odour and taste will be one of the most unique experiences to have here, if you have never sampled the fruit before. Visit the Cendol Durian Runtuh near Pasar Chow Kit. Cendol is a traditional Malay dessert that combines durian with coconut milk, shaved ice and jelly.
