Click Top 10 has released a list of what they've deemed the most dangerous guns of all time. While the list doesn't include anything that couldn't really fit in your Utah gun vault, the group does do a fair job of showing off some of histories' most famous and notorious weapons You might be surprised, however, on which gun took the coveted first place of most dangerous of all time.
Number 10 on the list is the AK-47. This assault rifle is known far and wide as a kind of “cheap-man's do-all,” even six decades after it was first developed. Made by the USSR for World War II, the AK-47 was the go-to gun for years, decimating targets during the mid-twentieth century. The wooden stock, large clip, and unique shape of the AK-47 has made it a staple of gun representation, and can be consistently found in everything from art, collectors vaults, and even video games. Even now, the AK-47 is relatively popular in many third-world nations, and private security agencies, though you likely won't find many lying around the Utah deserts. The ability to reliably fire 580 rounds a minute did this weapon well in its early years, and only far more modern gun types have forced it off of its platform.
Hitting a bit closer to home, the Thompson M192 coming in at #6. It is most seen nowadays in TV shows or movies, but these semi machine guns were anything but props. These guns were found in Utah vaults, soldier's hands, and even under the desk by individuals who wished to protect their property. Criminals in particular favored the Thompson for its compactness and huge firepower at the first of the twentieth century. It's been nicknamed the Tommy gun, the trench broom, and the trench sweeper for its reliable ability to fire over 600 rounds in one minute. If you see an old-fashioned mob movie or crime flick, more likely than not, the gun portrayed is a Thompson submachine gun. The originals are more likely found as relics in some Utah vault than shot outdoors, but they do still exist. They can even be outfitted with a pretty drum magazine for added efficiency.
In First place is the XM307 ACSW. Ok, so maybe this fully military tech won't be found in any Utah gun vault, but that means it’s even more deadly. It takes two men to efficiently operate this beast, but in turn soldiers are fully able to hit targets 2,500 yards away with ease. The reason why the XM307 made the top of the list should be pretty obvious, but this machine truly is one that no one wants to run into on the battlefield. Like any good weapon, it combines high ammo-spew with great accuracy for something made to kill. It's just not nearly as portable as the other members of the dangerous club.
