Mind-blowing places to visit in Abu Dhabi – The Gem of the Persian Gulf

The capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi is a grandiose city that is situated on the Persian Gulf and is full of gigantic shopping centres, malls and luxury hotels as well as some of the biggest and glitziest high-rises in the world. Here are some mind-blowing places to visit in Abu Dhabi.

1

Downtown Abu Dhabi

Downtown Abu Dhabi is where you want to go if you are in town to do some shopping. There are some grand residential buildings littered amongst bars, shopping malls and some of the best 5 star hotels in Abu Dhabi. In an area of the metropolis that never sleeps, you should be checking out the Abu Dhabi Mall, the Madinat Zayed Gold Centre and Al Zahiya which is a clubbing area for tourists and is great to just go and dance the hours into the night away.

2

Al Markaziyah

The central business district of Abu Dhabi is also the best place to go if you are looking for the beachfront this is where you should head over to. There is a Corniche on one side and the central business district on the other side. There is a new mall that has gone up as well as plenty of high-end boutiques so there will be plenty for you to do.

3

Al Wahda

Al Wahda is the part of Abu Dhabi that is quieter and calmer and great if you want to use public transport to get to. But despite it being relatively low brow when compared to the rest of Abu Dhabi doesn't mean there is nothing to do here. There is quite a choice of shopping malls touting famous brands like the Al Wahda Mall and surprisingly a place called Lulu's Supermarket.

4

Khalidiya

Khalidiya is considered the centre of culture within Abu Dhabi. It is a quick drive's distance from local hotels the likes of Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara. It is located right in the middle of Abu Dhabi so is very easy to reach from wherever in the city you are. There are plenty of ex-pats living in Khalidiya and you will find plenty of activities that cater to foreigners and to families who are visiting Abu Dhabi on holiday. Things you can do here include walking along the beachfront, swimming at the beach, visiting Abela supermarket and Shisha Café.

5

Khalifa City

Khalifa City is a suburb of Abu Dhabi that has recently started getting into a lot of development. It is only 25 minutes' drive to Dubai. There are such local attractions such as wakeboarding at the city's wakeboarding facility, the paintball facility which is perfect for a group of friends or family and the Al Forsan International Sports Resort. This is a great place for people who love horses and want to try out their equestrian centre. There's so much you can do in this up-and-coming suburb that you will also find in the city. Nevertheless, it is so worth the time exploring.
