Eurovision Song Celebration 2020 - Part One

Two special shows will air on the same dates as the Eurovision 2020 Semi-Finals! The ‘Eurovision Song Celebration 2020’ will premiere worldwide on our YouTube channel on Tuesday 12 and Thursday 14 May at 21:00 CEST. This is part one of the Eurovision Song Celebration!

On Tuesday 12 May, the EBU will spotlight the songs that would have been shown in the first Semi-Final, including host country the Netherlands and 2 of the Big 5 countries: Germany and Italy. During the show, you can expect exciting interval entertainment. If you've ever wondered what The Roop's On Fire would sound like if it was sung by Elvis or how Little Big's song UNO would sound in an acoustic version, you're in luck! The classic Eurovision challenge "Switch Your Genre" is back!

YouTube Creators from all over Europe will react to the songs and will be included in both shows. While there will be no competitive element in these productions, you can expect many more surprises along the way!

To pay tribute to the loyalty of the Eurovision fan base, the Eurovision Song Celebration shows will include the first-ever Fan Recaps. Instead of the classic recap of the participating songs, we'll watch fans sing, dance and party along to the songs of 2020.

#EurovisionSongCelebration #StayHome #WithMe

Eurovision Song Celebration 2020 - Part Two

On Tuesday you were able to see the first 20 songs that would have competed at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. The second online show, which will be broadcast on Thursday 14 May, will feature the songs chosen for the second Semi-Final and will include the rest of the Big 5 countries: France, Spain and the United Kingdom. Here, the interval acts will shine again! Curious to know how your favourite Eurovision 2020 participants live? You'll be treated to some exclusive home tours, and perhaps even a cooking experience or two.

YouTube Creators from all over Europe will react to the songs and will be included in both shows. While there will be no competitive element in these productions, you can expect many more surprises along the way!

Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light - Eurovision Song Contest

PHOTO: Eurovision 2020: The 41 chosen representatives

‘Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light', will air in place of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 Grand Final on Saturday 16 May at 21:00 CEST.

Public service broadcasters from over 40 countries will broadcast the show.

In addition to spotlighting the 41 songs of 2020, the unique production will include special performances from popular artists from Eurovision’s past. 2020’s artists will also join together, from their locations across Europe, in a unifying performance of 1997's Eurovision winner Love Shine A Light by Katrina And The Waves.

Sietse Bakker, Executive Producer Event of what would have been the 65th Eurovision Song Contest, said: “We want to make a show that puts a spotlight not only on the 41 artists that were due to appear in Rotterdam but also inspire those at home and connect people from across Europe and beyond in these difficult times. Of course, we will also honour those who are affected by the coronavirus crisis and those who work so hard to fight it. Let’s make this an unforgettable moment in Eurovision history!”

The EBU and its Dutch Members NPO, NOS and AVROTROS are producing the new show from the Mediapark in Hilversum.

The EBU and its Dutch Members are producing a new show, 'Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light', to air in place of the Grand Final on Saturday 16 May at 21:00 CEST.

The third Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 also took place in the ‘media capital’ of the Netherlands - Hilversum, after Net Als Toen by Corry Brokken gave the country its first victory in 1957. It was the first time in Eurovision history that the winning country hosted the Contest the following year.

The show will be hosted by Dutch presenters Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley (Eurovision 1998 and 2007) and Jan Smit. BBC Eurovision host Graham Norton and Dutch YouTube sensation NikkieTutorials will also make appearances in the live broadcast.

The live show is expected to last 2 hours. There will be even more surprise performances on the night so you can look forward to an incredible show! Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light will also be broadcast LIVE on our official YouTube channel:

Please note that this live stream is not available in the United Kingdom and Ukraine. You are able to watch the show from the United Kingdom via BBC and from Ukraine via UA:PBC.
Tune in on 16 May at 21:00 CEST!
